Social Media Corps

Become a Digital Reporter at the 2019 International Conference

Are you a social media maven, avid tweeter, or all around digital media guru? We’re looking for a group of social media pros with an affinity for Twitter to cover the 2019 RESULTS International Conference. Ideal candidates will be excited to serve as digital reporters and ready to live tweet, Facebook Live, and post on Instagram during sessions on topics ranging from tuberculosis to global nutrition to the racial wealth gap in the United States. All members of the Social Media Corps will have reserved seating, live tweet and post at least 8-10 times a day throughout the conference, and attend certain sessions as needed.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about effective advocacy and hear from experts on poverty and social justice. Applications this year are open to anyone, including RESULTS REAL Change Fellowship alumni and volunteers. However, due to the demands of the role, the Social Media Corps will not be a good fit for anyone who is a RESULTS leader in an official capacity, such as a group leader.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. However, applicants are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of May 3, 2019 to secure their spot.

RESULTS will provide a $250 travel stipend distributed at the conference. Accepted applicants will cover the cost of their conference registration and register themselves for the event. Some additional scholarship funds are available – you will have an opportunity within the application to let us know what you would need to attend the conference.

The Event

The RESULTS International Conference is a hands-on advocacy event held in Washington, DC every summer. This year’s conference will take place on July 13-16 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The conference is a chance for advocates of all levels and backgrounds to use their voices to change the world. Conference participants spend three days hearing from leading experts, learning new skills, and meeting fellow advocates committed to the end of poverty. The conference agenda ranges from informative sessions on critical poverty issues to skill-building workshops on community organizing and working with the media. On the fourth and final day of the conference, participants head to Capitol Hill and the World Bank to meet face-to-face with policymakers, advancing a shared vision of a country and a world free from poverty.
